Most of the aspects (whether audiovisual or game mechanic-wise) in this game are, in my opinion, decent enough to show a degree of polish but aren’t incredibly outstanding. #ULTRA SPACE BATTLE BRAWL IMPRESSIONS ZIP#Characters are slightly more mobile than the stats would suggest in the case of some - as there is a dash ability that can be used to quickly zip in one direction, in order to stand a better chance at chasing down fastballs sent your way. Notably, your own minions and crystal cannot be damaged if you were the one who last hit the ball. Djarwani, for instance, has a power smash that deals double the damage, while Yayuk can summon some walls that reflect the ball back upon contact.Īs mentioned above, because the premise of the game is really simple, this also makes it easy to pick up, yet slightly more challenging to master. After having tried them out, they do feel slightly different from one another in each of their various aspects it is the unique ultra abilities that truly make them stand out, however. Speaking of ultra abilities, there are at least 10 characters (10 are unlocked from the start, and the achievements hint that there’s at least one more to play as) in the game, each with their own statistics and ultra abilities. As a design decision, I’m on the fence about this - it gives the enemy team a chance to catch up, if they can capitalize on their ultra ability, but I also feel that the better team should just win outright instead of giving their opponents a way back into the round, by design. Therefore, the objective of each match is to destroy said barrier of minions before the player can then land hits upon the “crystals.” What is interesting, though, is that the game is designed in a way that destroying a minion will award the enemy team more meter towards their ultra ability, compared to the player. Thing is, though, these “crystals” are protected by a barrier of what the game calls minions. Pick a character, use their bats (or other similar tools) and hit a ball to destroy the opponent(s)’… crystal? Yeah, I’m not entirely sure what they’re called, as it isn’t quite explained. The premise of this game is actually pretty simple think of it as a slightly souped-up version of Pong, with some elements of classic fighting games (particularly the “first to X round wins” system). Ultra Space Battle Brawl is one of these aforementioned published titles, developed by another Indonesian studio called Mojiken Studio. And make it big, they’ve done, having now developed some Infectonator games for Steam, as well as venture into publishing. Considering the general economic situation in the country, I was genuinely amazed that there was a team trying to make it big. Toge Productions was no more than just a name at that point it was years later before I learned that they were a team based in Indonesia. #ULTRA SPACE BATTLE BRAWL IMPRESSIONS SERIES#I remember playing and loving the Infectonator series of flash games on Kongregate once upon a time. ![]() Very rarely do you ever find cases of games developed in Asia, but that’s not to say they don’t exist. Most of the games you play nowadays are, more than likely, made by a team based in the Americas or Europe. ![]() Video games are typically an industry dominated by the Western part of the world. #ULTRA SPACE BATTLE BRAWL IMPRESSIONS PC#
